Actress will join 'Brothers & Sisters' cast

Former "Everwood" star Emily VanCamp is joining her old boss, Greg Berlanti, at ABC.

VanCamp is joining the cast of the freshman drama "Brothers & Sisters" later this season. Her addition lengthens by one a cast list that already includes a dozen regulars and several more recurring characters.

She'll be playing Rebecca Harper, the heretofore unseen daughter of Holly Harper (Patricia Wettig) -- who for years was William Walker's (Tom Skerritt) mistress and has roiled the Walker family since William's death. An airdate for her first appearance hasn't been set.

Being cast on "Brothers & Sisters" reunites her with Berlanti, who created "Everwood" and cast VanCamp as Amy Abbott. Another "Everwood" alum, Treat Williams, has already appeared on several episodes of the series.

VanCamp's other credits include "The Ring Two" and the thriller "Carriers," which is due for release later this year.
