'Heroes' Mom Joins FOX Pilot
Gilsig and Garcia are the recognizable names on today's pilot roster
Jessalyn Gilsig, most recently seen as the firestarting mother of an indestructible cheerleader on "Heroes," will appear in FOX's ensemble drama pilot "The Apostles."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, she'll play an LAPD internal affairs lieutenant, joining previously announced "Apostles" including Leslie Hope, Keith Robinson, Shawn Hatosy and Yara Martinez.
Other credits for Gilsig include "Boston Legal" and a recurring role on FX's "Nip/Tuck."
Also at FOX, Aimee Garcia ("George Lopez") will play a weatherwoman and Paul Campbell a news director in "Action News." Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton play anchors and Fred Willard a sportscaster in the comedy, which has already received a 13-episode order from the network.
In addition, FOX has ordered a comedy/prank hybrid pilot from Skyler Stone titled "Skyler's Revolution."
In other casting news, Eddie Matos will play the youngest son in the rum-making family at the center of CBS' untitled Cynthia Cidre drama. Jimmy Smits is toplining that pilot.
