'Talkshow' gets second season in the fall

FOX has ordered up a second season of "Talkshow with Spike Feresten."

Airing on Saturday nights from midnight to 12:30, "Talkshow" is hosted by veteran "Seinfeld" and "Late Show with David Letterman" scribe Feresten. The show premiered last fall and has featured guest appearances by stars like Mary Lynn Rajskub, Andy Richter and Feresten's old boss Jerry Seinfeld.

The show mixes guest-driven segments, field features and recurring sketches like "Idiot Paparazzi" and "Comedy for Stoners."

"We're happy to pick up a second season of 'Talkshow with Spike Feresten,'" says Todd Yasui, senior vice president, late night programming, for FOX. "Spike has shown himself to be a unique voice in the late-night comedy field, and his show presents a refreshing alternative to the format. We're looking forward to watching him continue to grow as a performer."

"Talkshow" has ranked second in its time period among adults 18-34, which isn't necessarily all that difficult in its slot.

The network is also reportedly in talks to bring back "MadTV" for a 13th season, but an official announcement is believed to be a ways off.
