Summer Schedule for Fox's 'Loop,' 'Lot'
New seasons of 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Hell's Kitchen' will also premiere
First out of the box will be FOX's highly anticipated filmmaking competition show "On the Lot," from Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg. The series, which gives its winner a $1 million DreamWorks development deal, will get the best benefit FOX has to offer, premiering on Wednesday, May 16 with an auditions episode that follows the season's penultimate episode of "American Idol."
After that tease, "On the Lot" will take nearly two weeks off and, in the meantime, "So You Think You Can Dance" begins its third season with an hour-long audition episode on Thursday, May 24, followed by a second, two-hour, special on Wednesday, May 30. From there, performance shows will air on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET with result shows the next night. Cat Deeley returns as host.
"On the Lot" will return on Monday, May 28 with a two-hour "Film Premiere" episode, introducing the 16 finalists and their first films. The next night, in an hour-long "Box Office" results show, beginning at 8 p.m., four finalists will be eliminated. Monday, June 4 will make the first regularly scheduled 9 p.m. "Film Premiere" episode with the first half-hour results show the next evening.
The second season of "The Loop" (anybody remember the first season?) premieres on Sunday, June 10 at 9:30 p.m. The show's focus has been shifted to more workplace antics featuring co-stars Philip Baker Hall, Mimi Rogers and Joy Osmanski. Not to suggest that the show's future is in any doubt, but star Bret Harrison has already signed on for a drama pilot at The CW.
The summer's other major new premiere is the third season of Gordon Ramsay's "Hell's Kitchen." The combination of verbal abuse and gourmet cooking premieres on Monday, June 25.
Since this is FOX, all premiere dates and times are preliminary and could change at any time.
