Comedian offers funny pointers

George Lopez is with the band.

The comedian is set to make a guest appearance on Nickelodeon's hit freshman comedy "The Naked Brothers Band."

In the episode "Nat Is a Stand-Up Guy" which premieres on Saturday, Feb. 10, Lopez appears as himself to mentor the boys. When a music video director misinterprets one of Nat's songs, Nat is determined to prove that he has a sense of humor. He tries doing stand-up comedy, but when his jokes bomb, Lopez helps him realize that the he should look for material closer to home.

"The Naked Brothers Band" is a lighthearted mockumentary about a fictional world-famous rock group made up of the Wolff siblings and their young friends. Whether it's performing on stage, dealing with a crush or trying to find inspiration, the show gives a glimpse into the private and public lives of the kiddie celebrities.

The show recently gave Nickelodeon its highest-rated premiere in the past seven years (kids 6-11), drawing 4.7 million total viewers for its back-to-back episodes on Feb. 3. Both telecasts took the top spot in their respective time periods against all of television among kids and tweens.

"Naked Brothers" is inspired by the real-life preschool band created by Nat and Alex Wolff who write and perform their own songs. Their mother Polly Draper ("thirtysomething") is the series' creator/executive producer/writer/director. Dad Michael Wolff is a celebrated jazz musician/composer who was a band leader on the "Arsenio Hall Show."
