Also, Spike TV teams with UFC boss for mob drama

HBO's comedy pilot "How to Make It in America" has found its two lead actors in Bryan Greenberg and Victor Rasuk.

The "October Road" and "Stop-Loss" stars will play two friends chasing the American dream in New York, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show comes the producing team behind "Entourage."

Elsewhere on cable, Spike TV is taking another stab at scripted series, greenlighting a two-hour pilot about Irish mobsters in Boston that will be executive produced by Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and host of Spike's flagship series "The Ultimate Fighter."

"How to Make It" will revolve around Ben (Greenberg) and Cam (Rasuk), two guys with entrepreneurial aspirations who will do whatever it takes to see their dreams realized. In addition to "October Road," Greenberg has appeared on "One Tree Hill" HBO's "Unscripted" and co-starred in the feature film "Prime." Rasuk's credits also include "Lords of Dogtown" and several guest appearances on "ER."

Ian Edelman is writing the pilot, which the "Entourage" team of Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, Rob Weiss and Julian Farino is exec producing.

At Spike, the untitled mob drama will focus on the battles between rival factions when a gang boss leaves his position. It's the first step into scripted TV for UFC head White, who is executive producing with Tom Lynch. Chris Bertolini ("The General's Daughter") is writing the script, and Emmy winner Walter Hill ("Broken Trail," "Deadwood") will direct.

Spike has developed a handful of pilots in the past few years, but it hasn't gone forward with too many of them. A series based on the "Blade" movies had a one-season run in 2006, and the miniseries "The Kill Point" aired last year; a couple of other pilots that weren't picked up to series have aired as movies.
