Janel Parrish to guest on several episodes

We're not sure how popular "Heroes" is among tween girls, but its ratings prospects in that age group may have just improved a little.

Janel Parrish, one of the stars of the "Bratz" movie, has signed on for a guest-starring arc on the NBC hit, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She's set to appear in three episodes of the show, which begins its second season on Monday, Sept. 24.

Parrish will play the head cheerleader at Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) new school. The squad will be well-populated, as Dianna Agron ("Veronica Mars") and Lyndsy Fonseca ("How I Met Your Mother") are also set to play cheerleaders.

Fonseca's stay, however, will be brief. She was initially signed for a recurring part but then landed a series-regular job on ABC's "Desperate Housewives" as Dana Delany's daughter. As a result, she'll appear in just one episode of "Heroes."

In addition to "Bratz," Parrish -- who also sings on the movie's soundtrack -- has guest-starred on "The O.C.," "Zoey 101" and "The Bernie Mac Show."
