Lifetime Forges 'Blood Ties'
Supernatural series debuts in March
The cable network announced this week that it will debut "Blood Ties," a series about a private eye drawn into the supernatural, in March. The series, based on "The Blood Books" novels by Tanya Huff, will debut with back-to-back episodes Sunday, March 11.
Shot in Canada (and set to debut on Canadian TV later this year), "Blood Ties" stars Christina Cox ("The Chronicles of Riddick") as cop-turned-private investigator Vicki Nelson, who witnesses a murder that she believes to be the work of a serial killer. After the victim's girlfriend (Gina Holden, "Reunion") hires her, though, she comes to believe that the killer might not be entirely of this world.
Vicki's investigation leads her to a vampire named Henry (Kyle Schmid, "Beautiful People"), who's an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, who becomes her partner both professionally and romantically. That doesn't sit will with Vicki's ex (Dylan Neal, "Dawson's Creek"), who's also working the case.
Peter Mohan ("Mutant X") created "Blood Ties" and executive produces with Kirk Shaw, Randy Zalken and Marshall Kesten.
