Mary-Kate Olsen Hospitalized
Actress will be released within a day or two
The former child star was rushed to the emergency room of a New York hospital on Monday, Nov. 19, reports People.
"Mary Kate got a kidney infection," says rep Nicole Caruso. "She's resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so."
There are two types of kidney infections, both of which can be caused by a variety of infections, including bacterial infections. Treatment often consists of antibiotics.
Olsen, not to be confused with her sister Ashley who is "just friends" with Lance Armstrong, ended a 10-episode run on Showtime's "Weeds" the same day she was admitted to the hospital. On the show, she played Tara Lindman, a born-again Christian who rocks the world of Silas (Hunter Parrish), the elder teenage son of pot-dealing soccer mom Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker).
The 21-year-old actress recently wrapped shooting "The Wackness," in which she shares and on-screen kiss with Ben Kingsley.
