The reality show follows investigators looking for missing persons

CBS may take its successful crime formula to the reality TV genre.

The network has ordered a pilot of "Missing You," a procedural reality show in which a team of investigators tackle a missing persons case each week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS tried to develops something similar before with Mark Burnett on a show about searching for kidnapped children called "Recovery." If "Missing You" works, it will provide a reality companion to the network's scripted crime procedurals such as "CSI" and "The Mentalist."

Former '70s teen sensation Shaun Cassidy will act as one of the executive producers. His credits include ABC's "Invasion," the CBS cult favorite "American Gothic" and the pilot for the ABC Family comedy "Ruby and the Rockits," starring Alexa Vega and Cassidy's brothers David and Patrick Cassidy.
