'Life' Sentence for Brooke Langton
'Friday Night Lights' adds two recurring parts
Langton is replacing Melissa Sagemiller ("Sleeper Cell") in "Life," according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will play the lawyer who helped free a cop (Damian Lewis) who spent 12 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, and also won him a huge settlement and a spot back in the LAPD.
Langton was a regular on "Melrose Place" for two seasons in the late 1990s and has also appeared in the feature films "The Replacements," "Swingers" and "Primeval." She had a recurring part on "Friday Night Lights" last season as a single mom who became involved for a time with Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch).
This season, "Lights" will add Glenn Morshower ("24") and Daniella Alonso ("One Tree Hill") in recurring parts, the HR says.
Morshower, who's probably best known for playing Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce on "24," will play Landry's (Jesse Plemons) father. The character is described as a former Dillon Panther who's now a local police officer.
Alonso, meanwhile, will recur as an in-home nurse who helps Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) care for his grandmother (Louanne Stephens).
