NBC Developing Hilary Duff Series
Singer-actress will also guest on NBC shows
Under the deal, fans can expect to see plenty of the "Lizzie McGuire" star on NBC.
Not only will NBC attempt to develop an original series around Duff, but the singer-actress will also be able to guest-star or do multiple-story arcs on various NBC series.
"Hilary is an incredibly versatile talent with a huge following whose career we know will continue to soar on NBC," says Teri Weinberg, executive vice president, NBC Entertainment. "We are confident we will develop great ideas that would feature her vast talents and are thrilled to have this opportunity."
Duff has yet to commit to any of those possible guest spots and NBC has yet to settle on a creative team to chart the potential original series, which would be produced through Universal Media Studios.
Since gaining fame on the Disney Channel's "Lizzie McGuire" starting in 2001, Duff has evolved into adult stardom with roles in features ranging from "Cheaper by the Dozen" to "The Perfect Man" to an odd-ball turn in the dark comedy "War Inc." (called "critically acclaimed" in NBC's press release despite a 30% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes). In addition to her her acting, Duff sold two million copies of her "Metamorphosis" album and has had several hit singles.
