Repeats of 'Aliens in America' will replace it on Sundays

Viewers tuning into The CW on Sunday will discover that the status of "Online Nation" is HTTP 404, Not Found.

The freshman show that centered on Internet content has been canceled, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Instead, repeats of another new series, the acclaimed sitcom "Aliens in America," will take the Sunday, 7:30 p.m. slot.

The web-centric show aimed to take the best of the 'net, including user-generated content from online videos and blogs, and feature it on national television. The clips were introduced by Internet personalites Rhett and Link (Rhett McLaughlin and Lincoln Neal), Stevie Ryan and actress Joy Leslie.

Paired with the network's trendwatching "CW Now," the combined Sunday hour fared poorly, averaging a 0.7/1 for their premieres. In its final airing this past Sunday (Oct. 14), "Online Nation" only drew 580,000 viewers.

"Online Nation" is the first casualty for The CW, which also debuted "CW Now," "Aliens in America," "Reaper," "Gossip Girl" and "Life Is Wild" this season. It's not the first show to get yanked, however. FOX's "Nashville" was snatched from its Friday berth, with vague promises for an October return.
