ABC
ABC had the biggest single success of last season, moving "Grey's Anatomy" to Thursday nights and instantly becoming a big player on one of the most important nights of the week. Newcomers "Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters" were also pleasant surprises, and "Dancing with the Stars" even conquered "Heroes" in the spring.
For all that, though, ABC also had a pretty high failure rate last season (remember "Six Degrees"? "Help Me Help You"? "Big Day"? Didn't think so). So the network is, once again, rolling out the biggest slate of new shows this fall, with everything from a spinoff ("Private Practice") to a fairy tale ("Pushing Daisies") to a comedy based on car-insurance ads ("Cavemen"). If even a couple of these newbies stick, the network should find itself not having to pick up a dozen pilots for fall 2008.
