CBS' New Shows for the 2007-08 Season

CBS' New Shows for the 2007-08 Season: The Big Bang Theory

Premieres: Monday, Sept. 24
Airs: Mondays at 8:30 p.m.

The Pitch: Nerds are funny. Kaley Cuoco is hot. What more do you want?

When a ditzy bombshell (Cuoco) moves into the apartment across the hall from two physicists (Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons), complications ensue. See, theyre rocket scientists and shes no rocket scientist. On the other hand, she probably has sex occasionally. Them? Not so much.

What They Got Right: Chuck Lorre brought CBS its biggest comedy hit (Two and a Half Men) and the three leads arent unappealing.

Whats Oh, So Wrong: Theres a difference between writing smart dialogue and dialogue for smart people. The Big Bang Theory is stuck 100% in the realm of stereotypes. The nerds drink juice boxes, cant talk to girls and love Stephen Hawking DVDs. The bimbo parades around in short-shorts, dates muscle-bound bullies and babbles about astrology. And some of the situations in the pilot -- her shower is broken, so she has to use... THEIRS! -- havent been dusted off since Threes Company.

Recommended If ...: The words big bang make you giggle like a school girl.
