'War' Games: Rapaport Lands CBS Pilot
FOX comedy still has first dibs
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rapaport will take the male lead in the CBS "Fugly," from "My Name Is Earl" creator Greg Garcia. As the industry parlance goes, "Fugly" would be in second position for Rapaport, behind his FOX sitcom, which has struggled in its second season, bouncing around the network's schedule without finding traction. It's never a sign of particular optimism, though, when stars of currently active shows are auditioning for substitutes.
"Fugly" focuses on three siblings, a brother (Rapaport) and twin sisters (Nikki Cox and Marissa Jaret Winokur), who pool their resources and get one sister (Cox, obviously) extensive surgery and then head off to Hollywood to make big bucks off her new assets.
Other credits for Rapaport include stints on "Boston Public" and "Friends" as well as features such as "Beautiful Girls."
