"S.W.A.T." and "Dahmer" star Jeremy Renner will take one of the leads in FOX's ensemble pilot "The Oaks."

Renner joins Gina McKee, Sienna Guillory, Shannon Lucio, Matt Lanter and Bahar Soomekh in the high profile pilot, which FOX won in a bidding war back in August.

Produced by Shawn Ryan ("The Shield"), directed by Michael Cuesta ("Dexter") and written by David Schulner, "The Oaks" pilot will shoot next month.

"The Oaks" is a multi-generational story with supernatural elements focusing on three different families in three different decades living in the same house, haunted by the same spirit.

In 1968, it's a couple (Lanter and Lucio) who have just lost a child who move into the house. In 1988, it's a family of four (with McKee as the mother). In 2008, it's a pregnant couple (Soomekh and Renner).

Most recently seen in "28 Weeks Later," Renner can currently be seen on the big screen in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."
