CBS Sets Stars, Premiere Date For 'Secret Talents'
Starting on April 8, stars ranging from George Takei to Cindy Margolis to Joe Frazier will strut their stuff
CBS has given "Secret Talents of the Stars" the network's troubled Tuesday night 10 p.m. ET hour starting on April 8, perhaps hoping that the spectacle of Ben Stein dancing the Jitterbug will help reverse the ratings in that tough time slot.
In addition to those four "stars" and their "talents," viewers will also get to hear Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Joe Frazier sing and witness Danny Bonaduce on a unicycle, Sheila E juggling, Cindy Margolis doing magic, Bridget Marquardt on the trapeze, Marla Maples doing gymnastics, Roy Jones Jr. rapping and Mya tap-dancing.
Many of those stars will be accompanied by experts in their fields including the New Shanghai Circus, members of The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, veterans of Cirque du Soleil and The Anti-Gravity Troupe.
Additional performers will soon be announced.
"Secret Talents of the Stars" will be a competition show split over seven weeks, with the Tuesday shows airing live in the Eastern time zone. Four stars will perform on April 8 and 15 and viewer votes will determine two semi-finalists, who will compete on April 22, narrowing down to two finalists. The next two weeks will feature performances by four acts per week, with a second group of semi-finalists performing on May 13. The four finalists will compete on Thursday, May 22.
