Smart and Savage Casting for CBS Pilots
Amy Smart leads 'Meant to Be's,' while Fred Savage is a 'Single White Millionaire'
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smart will topline the drama "Meant to Be's" from "Medium" creator Glenn Gordon Caron.
The romantic drama will feature smart as a young art gallery owner who's tossed from her 40th floor balcony just before her honeymoon. She then becomes a "Meant to Be," a sort of spiritual guardian helping people get their lives on the tracks that are "meant to be" before she can go to heaven.
Smart co-starred in CBS' short-lived drama "Smith." Familiar from big screen turns in films like "Road Trip" and "Varsity Blues," Smart is expected to return for the second film in the "Crank" series.
Savage will take a break from a directing career that most recent included the feature "Daddy Day Camp" to play the title character in "Single White Millionaire," a multicamera comedy from "Family Guy" veteran Ricky Blitt.
The "Wonder Years," "Working" and "Crumbs" star will play a millionaire who decides the time is right to find a wife.
