'Survivor: Cook Islands' is the most-represented season
For those who missed the theme-reveal during the finale of "Survivor: China," the premise of the 16th installment of "Survivor" is quite simple. The new season will be filmed in the ultra-familiar beaches of Micronesia with 10 non-winning castaways facing off against 10 players who only know the game from watching it on TV.
Because "Survivor" already did an all-star season -- you remember... it unleashed Romber on the world -- the new pack of favorites only features contestants going back to season seven, while the just-completed "Survivor: China" is represented by broad-shouldered gravedigger James and guilt-ridden backstabber Amanda.
"Survivor: Cook Islands" fans (we're sure you're out there) will be particularly pleased with the "Favorites" group. That season, which began with the notorious race-divided tribes, produced three castaways including former foxy boxing flirt Parvati, flip-flopping actor-writer Jonathan and challenge juggernaut Ozzy.
The rest of the group includes crafty and generally adored Yau-Man and crafty and generally despised Jonny Fairplay, among others.
As for the "Fans," the 10 can best be described as fit, white and young, with the candidates including a pageant and gymnastics coaches, a personal trainer and an aspiring writer-actor best known for dating Eliza Dushku.
"Survivor: Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites" will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 7 on CBS.
